Hedra Payment Failed? Fix Hedra Card Declined, Understand the $21.20 Charge, and Pay Basic / Pro / Ultra with a Prepaid Virtual Card (USDT / USDC) — 2026

Hedra payment failed or card declined? How Hedra Studio bills (Stripe checkout; Visa, Mastercard, Amex, debit cards and prepaid Visa gift cards accepted; no PayPal, UPI or crypto), current prices (Basic $20, Pro $50, Ultra $100 a month, sales tax may be added), why our card was charged $21.20, credits and credit packs, why cards get refused, non-refundable fees and how to cancel, real charge data from our own cards, and how to pay Hedra from USDT or USDC with a prepaid virtual card. Updated October 2026.

Hedra payment failed, short answer: Hedra Studio (the AI talking-avatar and lip-sync video tool behind Character-3) bills through Stripe checkout. Its docs list Visa, Mastercard, American Express, debit cards and prepaid Visa gift cards as accepted, and say PayPal, UPI and crypto are not. Plans start at $20 a month, and sales tax can be added on top, so the charge is often a little above the list price. A Hedra payment usually fails because the bank refuses foreign USD charges, the card holds the list price but not the taxed total, the billing address does not match, or the same card was retried too many times. If your local card does not work, a prepaid virtual card bought with USDT or USDC, such as Pink Card from pinkcard.cc, can be added to your own Hedra account.

Written by the Pink Card team (pinkcard.cc). Hedra prices and rules are taken from hedra.com/pricing, the Hedra docs (payment methods, how credits work, cancel subscription, annual plans) and the Hedra terms as of October 2026. Hedra itself says plans, credit packs and prices can vary, so the Billing page is the source of truth. Pink Card fees are those shown on the purchase page on 2026-10-20. Pink Card is not affiliated with Hedra.

How Hedra charges

  • Free entry: you can start free; after cancelling a paid plan you keep only limited watermarked generations.
  • Basic: $20 a month, 2,000 credits a month, slower generations, commercial use.
  • Pro: $50 a month, 7,200 credits a month, faster generation (marked Popular).
  • Ultra: $100 a month, 18,000 credits a month, fastest generation and Teams plan access. Teams is $75 a month (14,400 credits); Enterprise is custom.
  • Older articles still quote Basic $15 / Creator $30 / Professional $75. Those are old prices and no longer match hedra.com.
  • Annual billing exists and gives the whole year of credits upfront; check the checkout for the yearly price.
  • Monthly plan credits reset each cycle and do not roll over. Credit packs never expire and are used after the monthly credits run out; pack prices appear at checkout.

Why was I charged $21.20?

The Hedra charge we saw on our card was $21.20, which is exactly $20 × 1.06. The most likely explanation is the $20 Basic plan plus 6% sales tax calculated by Stripe from the billing address; Hedra’s 2024 terms say fees exclude sales tax, which is collected on top when required. That is our inference, not a statement from Hedra, so check your own receipt. The practical point: load the taxed total, not a round $20.

Why Hedra declines a card

  1. The issuing bank refuses the charge. Many banks block foreign online or recurring USD payments to AI services, and Stripe only shows "card declined".
  2. The balance covers the list price but not the tax. A card holding exactly $20 fails on a $21.20 total.
  3. Billing address mismatch. The country, address and postal code are checked against the issuer.
  4. Too many attempts. Retrying the same card repeatedly, or switching between several cards in minutes, triggers risk checks. Waiting is usually the only fix.
  5. Wrong payment method. PayPal, UPI and crypto are not accepted at Hedra checkout; only cards.

Fix it in this order

  1. Stop clicking Subscribe. Note the exact total on the checkout, including tax.
  2. Make sure the card balance covers that total, plus about $1 if your prepaid card charges per transaction. Annual plans need the whole year upfront.
  3. Check the card number, expiry, CVV and billing address exactly as the issuer has it.
  4. Submit once from the subscription page. If the same card fails two or three times, wait several hours or use a different card.
Hedra does not publish how failed renewals are retried, and its API terms allow immediate suspension for non-payment. Top up a day or two before each renewal instead of waiting for a failure email.

Refunds and cancellation

Hedra’s terms say fees are non-refundable, with no prorated refund after cancelling. Subscriptions renew automatically at Hedra’s then-current price until you cancel. Cancel at hedra.com/app/settings/billing: billing stops, and your credits and benefits stay usable until the end of the period. Leftover credit-pack credits need an active subscription to be used again.

Does a prepaid virtual card work for Hedra?

Hedra’s own docs list prepaid Visa gift cards as accepted. We checked Hedra charges (merchant HEDRA INC. SAN FRANCISCO) on our own cards up to 2026-10-19: one Pink Card paid $21.20 on 2026-10-18 (UTC), and we saw no declined Hedra charges. The same card had paid ElevenLabs the same day, a typical voice-then-avatar workflow. The sample is one charge, so we cannot promise every card and every charge will pass; start with a monthly plan and keep the balance above the next renewal.

Pay Hedra with a prepaid virtual card (USDT or USDC)

  1. Open pinkcard.cc/en and choose an amount: presets start at $110 ($110, $220, $500, $1000), or enter a custom amount from $100.
  2. Pay with USDT on BEP-20 (shown as BSC or BNB Smart Chain on most exchanges; network fee usually under $1) or ERC-20, or with USDC on ERC-20. Send exactly the amount shown, on exactly the network you picked.
  3. Enter your email twice. No account and no sign-up are needed.
  4. The card number, expiry, CVV and billing address arrive by email about 1–2 minutes after the payment confirms (check spam).
  5. In Hedra, open the subscription page, pick the plan, enter the card with the billing address from the email, check the total including tax and submit once.
  6. Before each renewal, top up the same card. The number does not change, so Hedra keeps charging it. Top-ups usually reach the card within about 30 minutes of payment.

How much to load (worked examples)

  • Basic with 6% tax: $21.20 + $1 per transaction + $2.50 monthly card fee = $24.70 per month, so the $110 preset covers about 4 months.
  • Pro with 6% tax: $53 + $1 + $2.50 = $56.50 per month, so the $110 preset covers one month; without tax ($53.50) it covers two.
  • Ultra with 6% tax: $106 + $1 + $2.50 = $109.50, just inside the $110 preset for one month; the $220 preset is safer.
  • Paying for a $110 card: ($110 + $10) × 1.03 = $123.60. A $220 card: ($220 + $10) × 1.03 = $236.90.
  • Topping up $100 later: $5 + ($100 + $5) × 5% = $10.25 in fees, $110.25 in total.

Pink Card fees (as of 2026-10-20)

  • Card issuance: $10 one-time, plus a 3% service fee on (card amount + $10).
  • From the card balance after activation: $1 per transaction and $2.50 per month.
  • Failed authorizations are charged $1 too (at most 3 failed charges per card per month), so keep the balance above the next renewal.
  • Top-up of the same card: $5 plus 5% of (top-up amount + $5), usually on the card within about 30 minutes. Full fee table: pinkcard.cc/en/fees.
  • Once the card details are emailed, the order cannot be cancelled, so double-check your email address before paying.
The same card can pay ElevenLabs, ChatGPT, Claude and Midjourney as long as the balance covers them. Check each service’s supported countries and terms before subscribing; Pink Card is a payment tool and does not replace complying with a service’s rules.

FAQ

Why does Hedra say my card was declined?

Usually your bank refuses foreign USD charges, the balance covers the list price but not the sales tax, or the billing address does not match. Fix those, wait a few hours after two declines, and submit once.

What payment methods does Hedra accept?

Hedra’s docs list Visa, Mastercard, American Express, debit cards and prepaid Visa gift cards through Stripe. PayPal, UPI and crypto are not accepted.

Why did Hedra charge $21.20 instead of $20?

$21.20 is exactly $20 plus 6%, most likely the Basic plan plus sales tax added by Stripe from your billing address. Check your receipt to confirm.

Can I pay Hedra with USDT or crypto?

Not directly. You can buy a prepaid virtual card with USDT (BEP-20 or ERC-20) or USDC (ERC-20) at pinkcard.cc and add it to your Hedra account.

Does Hedra give refunds?

Hedra’s terms say fees are non-refundable and there is no prorated refund after cancelling. Cancel in Settings → Billing before the renewal date.
